Full itinerary
Upon your arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, meet with your tour guide and begin our city tour at the Reunification Palace, a witness to the bloody Vietnam War, which ended in 1975. The grand building today is a museum and a hall for official receptions. Nearby the Palace are the colonial-styled Central Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883 and one of the city’s major landmarks. Have a walking tour on Nguyen Hue street to take photos of the Opera House and the Ho Chi Minh Committee (outside). From here, walk to Ben Thanh Market, one of the most typical symbols of Saigon, to experience the daily life of the locals and shop for hand-made goods there.
Check in to your hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city
After breakfast, drive to My Tho, the homeland of coconuts.
- Upon arrival, board a boat and cruise along the Mekong River, observing the lives of the locals who live along its banks.
- Stop at one of four islands in the area for sightseeing. Enjoy the fresh tropical fruits served in the heart of the garden, accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music at the plantation.
- Embark on the small boats rowed by the locals through small cannels with water coconut trees to visit local factories. There you will taste the honey tea and see the local people produce the coconut candy milk. You can also try it or stroll in the garden where the locals feed the honeybees. Enjoy the horse-cart trip through the tranquil roads of the village.
- Get on the big boat to visit the vast area.
- Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant near the Mekong River.
Then, drive to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, a famous pagoda in the area because its architecture is a mix of Chinese, Cambodian, and French culture. Return to Ho Chi Minh City for the night.
The guide and vehicle pick you up from your hotel lobby and take you to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an immense network of interconnected tunnels near Saigon that are part of a much larger network lying below much of the country.
A guided visit to these tunnels provides a better understanding of their history, the hardship of life underground, and the resilience of the Vietnamese during combat. The tunnels were built and used initially by the Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots to protect them from the French air and ground sweeps. Later, these tunnels served as communication routes, storage facilities, hospitals, and living quarters for the guerrilla fighters in the Vietnam War.
You're invited to enter a section of the tunnels to witness the secrets of the tunnels firsthand. Your guide will also show you various mantraps employed from this period, the remains of an American tank and numerous B52 bomb craters. There is also the opportunity to fire an M60, M16, or AK47 rifle at the range next to the tunnel complex.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City at the end of the trip. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Danang. Pick up at Danang airport. Check in to your hotel.
Overnight in Danang
After breakfast, transfer to Ba Na Hills.
Upon arrival, enjoy the first leg of the cable car. Sitting in the cabin, in mid-air, looking upon the endless tree line of the forests, brings you spectacular views of the lush jungle and fairly waterfalls along the way. The experience of the pristine ecological systems of the Ba Na Mountains will leave you with a sense of unforeseeable discovery. Visit the Le Jardin, old wineries, French villa ruins, and the Ling Ung Pagoda, with its 27-meter-high Buddha statue and Golden Bridge.
Then take the second cable car to visit the top of the mountain and see the remains of old villas. Conquer the peak of Chua Mountain at the height of 1,487m. View the whole Danang city under the cluster of white clouds. Buffet lunch in Bana Hills.
Play plenty of games at Fantasy Park. (At Fantasy Park, admission does not include the Wax Museum, cotton animal games, or carnival skills.)
Return to the cable car station at the foot of Ba Na Mountain, then transfer to Hoi An ancient town. Check in to your hotel.
Overnight in Hoi An.
In the morning, stroll around the ancient town centre to visit some of the former merchants’ houses, the 400–year–old Japanese Bridge, a Chinese communal hall, and watch handicraftsmen at work. Free time for shopping at Hoi An Ancient Town and Hoi An Market.
Back to Da Nang in the afternoon. On the way, we stop to visit Marble Mountains – a cluster of five hills made from limestone and marble, and Non Nuoc Stone Village, where you can buy some products made of stone.
Continue to drive to Danang airport for your departure flight.
