Full itinerary

Day tour
  • Pick-up in Hue, drive north on Highway One to Dong Ha, stop off at sites along the way, such as Horror Highway, Quang Tri Citadel, Ai Tu Airfield.
  • Go to Dong Ha, the former headquarters of the U.S. Marines, travel west on Route 9.
  • The first stop is the Rockpile, a lookout for the U.S. Marine Corps, visiting Van Kieu's ethnic minority people in central Vietnam. Continue to the village of Khe Sanh, visit Khe Sanh Battle Base.
  • Get a lunch at Dong Ha. After lunch, visit the Hien Luong Bridge across the Ben Hai River in the center of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). The River was the only real physical demarcation between North and South Vietnam.
  • Continue to Vinh Moc tunnels, the shelter of some 400 North Vietnamese inhabitants during the Rolling Thunder bombing operation.
  • Return to Hue. Drop off at your hotel. Tour ends!
