Full itinerary
The itinerary is flexible as to the arrival time.
A meet and greet on arrival at Phnom Penh International airport, then start the tour by visiting:
Overnight in Phnom Penh
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
This morning you will visit the Toul Sleng Museum, formerly known as Toul Svay Prey High School, located on a dusty road on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, where in 1976 the Khmer Rouge renamed the high school S-21 and turned it into a torture interrogation center.
Of the 14,000 people known to have entered, only seven survived. Not only did the Khmer Rouge carefully transcribe the prisoners' interrogations; they also carefully photographed the vast majority of the inmates and created an astonishing photographic archive.
Today, S-21 prison is known as the Toul Sleng Museum of the Genocide and Cheung Ek Museum, better known as the Killing Fields, where large numbers of people were killed and buried in mass graves.
In the afternoon, transfer to the airport or bus station on your departure to Siem Reap.
You will be welcomed by our local guide upon arrival in Siem Reap and transferred to the hotel for check-in.
Overnight in Siem Reap
After breakfast, visit Angkor Thom Temple, which was the last state temple to be built at Angkor. Then visit Ta Prom Temple, a Bayon style temple that is believed to have been built in the late twelfth and early thirteenth centuries.
In the afternoon, continue to visit Angkor Wat temple. Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia, stretching over some 400 km2 including forests.
Then visit BaKheng Hill, also called Phnom Ba Kheng, which is located north of Angkor Wat to view the landscape and sun set on the top of a mountain with a temple backdrop. Then transfer for dinner with an Apsara Dance performance at a local restaurant in the town.
Overnight Siem Reap
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for an excursion to the Kulen Mountain, or Phnom Kulen, which has been declared a national park. It is an isolated mountain massif located in the Svay Leu District and some 48km from Siem Reap city. Continue to visit Presh Ang Thom, 1000 Lingas, and the waterfall. The images of Hindu Gods, their spouses, and over 1000 lingas carved on the bed and river banks of the Siem Reap River in Phnom Ku Len gave rise to the name "River of 1000 Lingas."
Return to Siem Reap for overnight
In the morning, we will enjoy a boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake at Kampong Phluk Village. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in Southeast Asia and flows into the Tonle Sap River, which joins the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a fishermen's "floating village" with floating schools, a floating police station, etc. It is like a big village floating on the lake, and the "village" moves from place to place following water levels and currents.
Return to the town and visit Artisans d'Angkor.
Afternoon transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
