15 Day Vietnam Culture
Hanoi, Viet Nam
The scenery is breathtaking, and the culture is alive and well. Vietnam has an ancient and ...
Except for the border with Cambodia, which runs northeast from the Gulf of Thailand, southern Vietnam is surrounded on all sides by the sea. The richest and most urbanized of the country's three regions, it is dominated by Ho Chi Minh City, a massive metropolis of more than ten million people.
Ho Chi Minh City is likely to be your first stop in Southern Vietnam, and there is plenty to do in this vibrant city. The War Museum and the Cu Chi Tunnels are both must-sees for anyone interested in the war's legacy. Walking around the city, admiring the French colonial architecture, and visiting markets are also enjoyable ways to spend a day. If you want to spend the night out, the nightlife in this city is vibrant and dynamic.
Beautiful beaches await you on the coast in both Vung Tau and Mui Ne, where you can put your feet up and relax in the Southern Vietnamese heat. The sand dunes near Mui Ne are also breathtaking, and riding an ATV around them is a lot of fun.
Full itinerary
Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, we were met and picked up by our local guide. Take the city tour around the bustling downtown, visiting Reunification Palace, Jade Emperor Pagoda, War Remnant Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Old Sai Gon Post Office. Check into your hotel, then relax for the rest of the day.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, drive to My Tho, the homeland of coconut.
Enjoy your Elephant Ear fish lunch at a local restaurant near the Mekong River.
We also visit Vinh Trang pagoda, a combination of Asian and European pagodas, before heading to Can Tho city, the heart of the Mekong Delta.
Overnight in Can Tho
The watery world of the Mekong Delta is home to many bustling floating markets. This day we take a boat trip exploring the vibrant floating markets of Cai Rang and Phong Dien, where the trading system is unique; each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples, or sugar cane. After sampling local fruits, our guide will escort you back to the hotel through myriad canals.
In the afternoon, return to Ho Chi Minh City
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Today, we have an excursion to the Cu Chi Underground Tunnel, the famous battle field in the Vietnam War. Now it is a favorite tourist site with its 200 km of long tunnels and its brave guerrillas. These tunnels and underground villages were built to provide a safe haven for the people of Cu Chi in the war.
In the afternoon, leave Ho Chi Minh City by road for Mui Ne. The scenic 200km drive north on Highway One passes through the bustling city of Bien Hoa before cutting through dense rubber plantations. Nearer to Mui Ne, the terrain changes to an arid semi-desert with cactus plants and strange looking dragon fruit trees. Arrive in Mui Ne and check into a room. The rest of the day is free to relax by the pool or on the sandy beach.
Overnight in Mui Ne.
Stay at your own leisure in the morning to swim or enjoy the beauty of the beach. In the afternoon, depart from the hotel/resort to visit the Fairy Stream. After that, visit Red Sand Dune. From the top of the dune, you will see the scenery of Mui Ne. Enjoy the romantic sunset here. You might also try some sand sliding games for a different experience. Return to your hotel/resort.
Overnight in Mui Ne.
After breakfast, check out hotel. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. Free for shopping until time transfer to airport for your departure flight back home.
