Paper Mask Making Class

Preserving an Ancient Dying Heritage

Class size: 1 - 10 guests

Duration: 2 hours

Wearing paper masks is a treasured and beloved tradition among the locals and traditional paper masks have been a favorite traditional toy among Vietnamese children. During the festival night, children dressed in colorful paper masks and carrying bobbing lanterns parade around the neighborhood, similar to trick-or-treating on Halloween. Unfortunately, it is now a dying art, with modern toys supplanting this age-old tradition. During this exclusive visit, you will have access to a hidden gem in Hanoi's Old Quarter and make your own paper masks with the only couple left to carry on the tradition.
