Van Phuc Silk Village - the oldest silk village in Viet Nam

Van Phuc silk village is well-known for its illustrious history and is the country's oldest silk village.

This silk village is located 10 kilometers southwest of Hanoi on the Nhue River's bank. It is well-known for its traditional silk trade and high-quality products, and it is one of the country's most visited craft villages.

This tranquil location, which was established over a century ago, is home to massive banyan trees, wells, communal houses, and an authentic sericulture where local artisans produce a wide range of apparel and souvenirs using traditional looms.

Van Phuc silk has been sold in the European market since 1931, when its silk products gained popularity among traders due to their smooth and lightweight texture at an international silk exhibition in Marseille, France.

Today, this village not only sells its products to tourists in Hanoi, but it also exports them to many other parts of the world. Generations of master weavers have helped to establish the village as a national brand.
