Quang Binh is 490km south of Hanoi. The entire area spans 8,037sqkm and serves as home to a population of more than 800,000 people. The city of Dong Hoi is the provincial capital.
Quang Binh has a diverse terrain that includes mountains, lowlands, forests, and islands, as well as seas and rivers, making it a great place to visit because there is so much to see and explore.
For the past few years, the government has been investing in the province in order to improve infrastructure and services in order to make it more tourist-friendly.
Best time to visit Quang Binh
The dry season, which runs from April to August, is the greatest time to visit Dong Hoi since you can see both gorgeous landscapes and immaculate beaches. In January and February, however, the best options are to join a tour to discover Phong Nha – Ke Bang or to taste fresh marine food with spicy hotpot.

Nhat Le is a gorgeous 12 km of white powdery sand beach, which is the perfect location to relax and rejuvenate before heading to the caves. It is a pristine beach with whistling pine tree, bayhops with purple and yellow flowers, contributing to Nhat Le ‘s beauty. This beach has soft white sand that will be a perfect small stadium for tourists to play football, volleyball and other outdour activities. In addition, the restaurants along the seashore will be the best place to enjoy fresh sea food in here.
Is about 8km from Nhat Le Beach, Quang Phu Sand Dune is a must- see destination in Dong Hoi. The sand dunes were quite vast, consisting of rolling hills, gorges and beautifully wind sculpted surfaces. Much of the sand was covered with a hardy ground cover, vine-like plant life that spread its tentacles in many directions. It is called Quang Binh’s Saraha, where you can enjoy seeing sunrise and sunsets on the sand dunes. Whether you just hike the dunes or rent a slide and take a ride this is a beautiful venue.
Vuc Quanh Outdoor War Museum, which is about 7km from Dong Hoi City is a place of collecting, reproducing and displaying artifacts from the War against U.S Army of Quang Binh people. The visitors can explore the Truong Son Road sample, food storage, old house at the time of the war and enthusiastic slogans of Vietnamese people on the fence of bomb which was used for the fighting.
Far away from Dong Hoi, about 1-hour driving, The Phong Nha Cave is one of the most beautiful caves and the longest wet cave or river cave in the world. It has a subterranean river system stretching over approximately 8 kilometres.
